Rainbow Cake

A Ten year old family friend loves to bake. Hazel will bake you anything and it will be made to perfection. She is constantly baking for charity events, for donations, fundraisers, family, and just friends. Whenever I, or a member of my family find an interesting dessert, we e-mail the recipe to Hazel, knowing that she would be up for the challenge to bake it for us. I had come across a How to Make a Rainbow Cake while searching the internet one day. I am a fan of color, and Hazel is a fan of baking, so I sent her the link, in hopes that she would make the cake for me. I had asked for her to make the cake for my birthday, or graduation, but she had other plans in mind. The next day was Hazel’s birthday, and my family was going over to her house to celebrate. She had a surprise for me and I could only guess what it would be. That day she had had her friends over, each friend was able to mix one color of batter for the rainbow cake, inserting the gel food coloring into the white batter. Upon Hazel’s rainbow cake creation, it became my dessert of choice. Cutting the cake I saw the variety of colors: Aqua Blue, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Lime Green, and Purple. Eating something that is purple or green may not be so appetizing, but let me tell you it is appetizing, and you will eat every last bite. You forget that your white cake has been turned blue from the dye. All I could think of was how amazing it was that I was eating a rainbow cake. You don’t know the feeling until you experience it, you are actually tasting the rainbow, here is how to make it:
What you need: one- 12 oz bottle of Sprite, One- Box of White Cake mix, Gel Food Coloring

Directions: 1) Pour the bottle of Sprite into the cake mix, eggs, water, and oil are not needed
2) Pour the batter into six different bowls, or as many as you would like according to the colors you want. In each of the bowls mix the batter with one of your gel food coloring dye’s.
3)Once the batter is mixed, just pour a color into the middle of your pan, and then the next color on top. Don’t mix the colors.
4) Ready to bake
